What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
See the copyright page in my book. No, seriously. You’ll laugh. And that’s my answer.
The longer answer is that Rise of Dresca, and the Draemeir Chronicle as a whole, feels like a lifelong daydream that’s spiraled out of control. Pieces of it have been years in the making, reiterated and reworked many times, but once I put it in writing, it took on a life of its own, and I’ve done my best to stay true to that and let the story tell itself.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I've always believed stories, even fantasy, should teach us something about the real world. I like to say I write what I've seen. So while never depicting actual individuals, my characters are usually composites of traits, personalities and mentalities I've witnessed. So if any of my characters seem too wild, outlandish, or hard to believe… you need to get out more! 😉
