Author Bio:
Joseph L. Licari (Joe) is a children’s book author from Long Island, New York. His debut book, Mia’s Mouses, has received numerous accolades including the 2024 Pencraft 1st Place Book Award for Children in the K-3rd General Genre Category. His other titles include Mia’s Marvelous Farm Adventure, Mia’s Mouses Workbook and Coloring Book, and Mia's Farm Adventure Word Search Puzzles.
Through engaging humor, charming illustrations and infectious rhymes, Joe’s children’s books both entertain and teach young readers while building their vocabulary and literacy skills.
With a deep commitment to coaching and mentoring, Joe is a music instructor for a leading music retailer where he teaches guitar, trumpet, and piano to students of all ages. There, he inspires children to learn in fun and engaging ways — a quality that shines through in his writing. Joe frequently conducts author visits and reading workshops at elementary schools, libraries, and other community venues.
Joe holds an MBA from Hofstra University and a B.S. from Stony Brook University. He has also completed several certificates in Creative Writing. Joe is an active member of several writing groups, including the Long Island Authors Group, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). When not immersed in writing or teaching, Joe enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing golf, staying active, and contributing to his local church and community.
