What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wish for more women to see how powerful we can be when we come together. Especially for positivity, growth, healing, etc. In this story, these phoenix sisters willingly come together to help Deja overcome her obstacles. Deja had gained the courage to ask for the help she knew she needed. Many of us, including myself, struggled with that as children. I struggled with it into adulthood. Through this book, I hope I inspire children to find their inner bravery and voice.

Overthinking is the first hurdle Deja has to get over. She spends an abundance of energy on thoughts that are killing her brain. As she begins to tell her story to the fire pit, she starts to see images form in the flames. She saw a bird riding a horse. The horse was running full speed. They ran and ran until they jumped from one huge cliff to another. The horse galloped away with the bird. In shock, Deja looks at Glowe and says "That was amazing! What does it mean, though?" Not wanting to just give Deja the answer, Glowe responds "What do you feel it means?"
After a moment, Deja responds "I feel it represents me taking the first step in this journey. Getting over that first hurdle. Getting over that fear of what could and couldn't happen. I also feel a special connection to the horse. Like I've ridden then before." After a long conversation, all of her memories of her companionship with a horse came back to her. She now knows how eager she is to reconnect with her sisters, who she was and who she is.

My writing journey began at age thirteen when I wrote my first poem. Finally deciding to start story writing in high school, I took writing as a whole seriously enough to make it a career. There were plenty of moments where I doubted myself. Mostly during the early stages of my first book release. After seeing what I could do after regaining some determination and motivation, I’m glad I made the choice to keep going.
