A fun story set in a small kingdom in the Middle Ages, Ayrwynn the Apprentice is the tale of a tenacious girl who wants with all her heart to be a scribe. Her loving father, Woodworker Aelfred gets her the perfect apprenticeship with Master Scribe Nicholas. Master Scribe Nicholas is a respected scribe whose clients include the Royal Family.
Getting an apprenticeship is an amazing opportunity and there’s only one thing that might keep Ayrwynn from fulfilling her dream….her knack for getting herself in trouble. When her first assignment for the Queen ends with a disaster that nearly destroys the castle’s market day, her apprenticeship and the dream she’s worked so hard for could be taken from her. Will it be the end of Ayrwynn’s dream?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I've loved learning about history for a long time and want to share the things I've learned with kids. Most of the history books and lessons out there for kids are kind of boring and can't really compete with all of the really cool stuff out there.
I'd like to change that. I think history can be really interesting!
With Ayrwynn the Apprentice, I took some of the fun stuff I learned and used someone I know as inspiration for Ayrwynn and tried to combine them in a way that's interesting.

Tricia Stuart is a Mom to two great kids, two awesome furbabies and a cool husband. One of her favourite things is learning about history…any history. When her kids were in middle school and doing home-based learning, she was really excited about getting to help them with their history courses. That is, until she actually read the lessons. They were so boring!! Her belief is that history can be interesting and maybe even FUN. After slogging through those dull lessons with her kids, she decided to make it her challenge to make history something enjoyable to learn through creative and engaging stories.
