Put on your goggles and grab the flashlight – get ready to take a sailbus flight !
Join Andy in this Victorian Sci-Fi inspired tale, set in the far away hills of a family orchard. Armed with his flashlight, goggles and field clothes, a young explorer sets off for adventure. His curiosity is kindled by hydro-turbines, a steam-driven wheelchair, and a tidal-powered city where he attends school. Earth’s endless clean power drives his intellect as the hills free his adventurous spirit.
Susie, the cat, narrates as the watchful conscience to Andy, always cautious of a situation where they might be headed. Yet, she never leaves his side. Spring has arrived and the changing weather can bring a surprise. Has Andy’s love of adventure taken him too far this time?
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
It was so exciting to write and illustrate a young readers’ picture book that would inspire the very young to study and take seriously the lessons at school so they too can be a part of the wonderful future in front of them.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Andy is my ‘One and Only’ grandchild.
Susie was my cat during this childhood age; and she followed me everywhere.
Ginger was one of our horses.
Katie was my friend that lived down the road who unfortunately caught Polio at the age of 8 and passed away. We lived in the country on farms, and it was difficult for me to lose her friendship. . . I still think of Katie to this day.

While we’re all asleep, Silver Lake comes alive
with family and friends that live there.
When they sleep in the day, they are hidden away
in disguise so we don’t know they’ve been there.
When the sun goes down, and we’re in our beds,
little creatures put on a great show.
They live their own way – together and play
as they did many years long ago.
