What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When my son, Colin, was three years old, he asked me what would happen if he pulled the plug and went down the bathtub drain. I sat down and created a book to answer his question. The original version of 'What a Bath!' was illustrated with moveable parts. My son loved having the book read to him as he followed along and moved the main character through the pipeline.
“Don’t pull the plug,” Mama warned, “or your water will be gone;
And down the drain you’re sure to go without your knickers on.”
Now Colin may not be four or even five or six,
But even so, he already knows not to fall for Mama’s tricks.
So with a giggle and a grin, Colin pulled the plug
And down the drain he quickly went as if he were a bug!
