That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN is for all those bleary-eyed families who sincerely believe that they will never again enjoy a full night of sleep. Seen through the eyes of an exhausted sibling, this book is guaranteed to bring a smile to even the most fatigued members of a sleep-deprived household.
Can you count the number of nights you slept after your baby was born? Do you remember–or are you now suffering through–the cries that can mean anything from change me now, to I’m hungry, to time to come in and play with me?
In That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN, there’s no question about who’s the head of the household. It’s the baby!
Ms. Ellis understands the world of the sleep-deprived and felt compelled to write a book that might make every family’s sleepless nights bearable. Thus, the first lines of the book:
“I was sleeping in my bed
and a dream was in my head
when…”
That baby woke me up, AGAIN!
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When my kids were babies, they were terrible sleepers! One night, as I was sitting in the rocking chair with my three-month-old son, a poem started going through my head. It was the beginning of That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN! Every time I got up and sat with him, I added to the poem. Soon I had the entire thing in my head. I shared it with my daughter, who was three at the time. She loved it and said it should be a book. And that's how my writing career was launched.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The baby and the little girl in the story are based on my own two children.

I counted sheep,
I went to sleep,
five, six, seven times;
and every time
that baby's whine
woke me up AGAIN!
