All that fifteen year old Jonathan Weldsmore wanted to do was design and build steam ships to sail on the high seas. Treated like a poor relation within his own wealthy family, he had little hope of obtaining the future he desperately wanted. That is until he rescued and transformed an injured rat into the mechanism of not only his salvation, but his family’s as well. (A YA Novella)
A TV and feature film writer, Madeleine has recently discovered that writing comics is way more fun and cannot wait to do more. Winner of the Sloan Fellowship for screenwriting, it still drives her husband crazy when she messes with the physical laws of the universe in her stories. Formerly a nationally ranked epee fencer, she has competed nationally and internationally. She is an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy and historical military fiction. Madeleine lives with her rocket scientist husband, David and two dogs, Apollo and Sheba. (And no, they were not named after the characters in the original Battlestar Galactica.)
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This story is based on the my webcomic BOSTON METAPHYSICAL SOCIETY. What I wanted to do was expand the universe and delve more deeply into the early and later lives of the characters. All of the stories are self-contained and do not reveal any spoilers to the webcomic.
