What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Roman's Road: A Journey to Salvation was simply inspired by the children's ministry I was volunteering with at my church and one of my daughters. My daughter had made the decision to accept salvation and she began to grill me with questions about her decision and faith in God, in general. I talk to children and youth a lot about God, but this time required me to consider that it takes some true effort and thought when having these types of conversations with your own children. Her inquiries sparked a compassion for me to inform children and parents worldwide on salvation and what that conversation should and could look like outside of a person's church walls.

However, this visit to Big Mama and PeePaw’s house was very different for Roman. Mom and Dad had been long gone and he hadn’t done anything fun yet. Roman did not know that his mom told his grandparents about his terrible behavior.
Big Mama told Roman to pull up a chair so she could read him a story out of the children’s bible. She was a great storyteller and reader.

Big Mama read Roman the story of Adam and Eve in the children’s bible (refer to Genesis 2:4-3:24). The bible says that the first man, Adam, was alone so God created Eve, the first woman. The important part of the story was that Adam and Eve didn’t listen to God and let a snake trick them into eating from the tree God told them not to eat from. As Big Mama was reading, she said a word that Roman remembered hearing before called ‘sin’.
Roman interrupted Big Mama, “What does that word sin mean again? I remembered us talking about it before, but I forgot what it means.”
