What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
About 7 years ago, our family experienced three miscarriages in a row. We already had two children at the time, so my husband and I weren't the only ones who had to process this loss. Our Heaven Baby is actually the true story of how we told our kids about one of the babies we lost. We were very honest with them that the baby had died, but we also wanted to focus on hope and Heaven. We spent a lot of time together talking and dreaming about what Heaven might be like. Doing this brought us all so much peace. I wrote this story so that others can also turn their thoughts to Heaven in a time of death and loss.
"My mommy said, "Let's dream about what it's like. I bet our baby loves it there."
I started to imagine it. When we go to Heaven, will we walk on the clouds? Or maybe they're so fluffy that it's more like bouncing. I hope we can get our noses really close to a rainbow. I'm just sure rainbows smell like summer berries."
