What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This poetic story was inspired by the melting ice that followed the Texas snowstorm in February 2021. The gorgeous illustrations takes the reader on a journey with One Drop through scenes that are influenced by both Texas and New Zealand, reflecting the connection that both the author and the illustrator have with both places. I am also inspired by the limitless lessons we can learn from observing the journey of water.
High in the sky.
Cocooned in the clouds.
"Who am I?"
"What am I?"
"Where will I go?"
One cold day.
My cloud bursts open!
Floating through the sky!
Landing softly…settling in my white bed.
Blanket of snow.
Soft, still, sparkling snowflake.
One cold morning…

Jayshree is inspired to share her ideas and perspectives on how nature and children teach us to live joyfully and to trust the journey. Her debut story, One Drop, Endless Ripples, explores the limitless lessons that can be learned through nature.
Having recently moved to the USA from New Zealand with her husband and two teenage boys, Jayshree and her family are navigating a new country, culture, and the challenges of the pandemic. It is through this transformation and shortly after the Texas snowstorm in February 2021, that the idea of One Drop, Endless Ripples began.
Jayshree’s parenting and life transformation began when her children started at an early childhood Montessori school which offered her a new perspective on how children thrive. As a parent and an active member of the school board, she learned that children learn best when they feel safe and connected, when they feel joyful, and when they follow their curiosity.
As a lifelong learner, Jayshree explores the world through reading, art, music, and travel. She loves exploring her creativity through writing and cooking, practicing yoga, making time for quiet reflection, and enjoying nature through her garden and walking.
