What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was always very self-conscious of my nose when I was young. Even now, I have said if I ever had plastic surgery it would be for my nose. I laugh now, but there is still an element of truth to it. I started drawing my 'big nose' character when I was 12 years old – a reflection of how I was feeling; a reflection of myself of sorts. I wrote this story for my 12 year old self – for the young girl who believed girls should have small, dainty noses. A nose does not define who you are. I hope every young girl can look at herself and love herself, not for what she looks like, but for who she is as a person.
