What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wrote this for every girl in the world to let them know of the existence of real princesses: ordinary people that do extraordinary things.
I wanted to reinvent the princess, make her diverse, modern, mainstream, and contemporary, while keeping the past in the mixture. I made a vibrant strong main character who embarks on a journey to discovering mystifying things within herself and within the world. I wanted it to be fun, meaningful, and include beloved elements of fantasy while still being down to earth. I definitely wanted to include history. In many places around the world we have too many unsung and unrecognized heroes: Princes and Princesses.
