‘Teen Life, Soul Being Soul’ gives each teen short periods of time every day to easily refocus, replacing times of worry, confusion, and questioning. This happens when a single page is ‘randomly’ chosen early in the day. There are more than 200 positive word pages from which to choose and each page has one word repeated seven times. Before starting the day, the reader repeats the word 21 times, thus keeping it at the top of the conscious mind. It will resurface when needed. This routine takes about one minute, and because the word is chosen by the reader’s subconscious or intuition, and not the author or reader’s ego, the word is meaningful and effective. Interestingly, different words will be appropriate for each reader so that even after using the book for a few years, there will be words that are never chosen by the individual reader. Finally, each positive word is based on common kindness concepts, for self and others. They might be serious or silly. A few words from the book are: talented, wise, voice, heard, silly, objective, and possible.
Targeted Age Group:: 12-16
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I had written a similar book for adults. When my granddaughter became a teen, I realized that this concept would be a positive daily focus for all teens. I also realized that I wish I’d had it when I was growing up.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Because this book isn’t a story, nor one of fiction, there aren’t characters. The book is focused on the reader who becomes the positive center of attention in their day.
Why read Teen Life, Soul Being Soul?
What do you find yourself worrying about?
# Fitting in?
Everyone has worries. We spend a part of our day tossing around a worry, often without finding an answer. It’s rather like playing a sport where all the players are throwing around several balls and rarely making points.
Sometimes we want and need to practice focusing.
When to use Teen Life, Soul Being Soul
This book provides each reader with a unique, simple, and friendly way to add daily focus to his or her life.
A proven way to make your book effective is for you to randomly choose one word* each day. And, although you may not realize it, by turning your attention to that word a few short times during the day, you will experience less worry and be more focused!
I’m a ‘Nana’ who has spent a long time learning about being happy and giving others a way to be more happy. I’ve worked hard to be a better person and have come to know that happiness is better!
Before I retired, I taught 5th grade language arts and social studies. Because I had never liked social studies as a kid, I tried to make it more fun to learn. And because learning to be happier is not always easy, I hope my books help others have an easier way to gradually become happier.
