King Rupert is hosting a banquet and has requested his favourite raspberry vanilla cupcakes, only the castle’s oven isn’t working. Will Ruby and the Supreme Kitchen Team be able to appease King Rupert on this grandest occasion?
Supreme Kitchen Team is a fun and engaging children’s picture book series, created with a simple vision, “to inspire young children to discover home-style cooking”.
Targeted Age Group:: 3-6 years
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Nationally, and indeed globally, there can be no argument about the importance of healthy eating for all people, particularly toddlers and children. In recent times, there has been an explosion of TV programs and cookbooks aimed at adults, covering various cultural cuisines, and addressing just about every conceivable food category, from salads to sweets. There is a gap in the market for cookbooks aimed at toddlers (3 to 6 years). This gap in the market is one which can be filled through creativity, imagination and animation, specifically through the adventures of Ruby and the Supreme Kitchen Team.
The reach of the Supreme Kitchen Team is global, as the key characters will have a resemblance to a typical, every-day kitchen within each and every household. They will be ‘larger than life’ and create a sense of adventure. The characters will be sufficiently developed to engage and connect with the target audience. The Supreme Kitchen Team will become role models and will be loved by toddlers and adults alike.
The Supreme Kitchen Team will educate and entertain toddlers and there will be a benefit that extends to adults through recipes and methods to create simple, tasty, home-style meals. This will become the conduit for parents and toddlers to have fun in the kitchen, gaining an appreciation of good food and home-style cooking.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
We wanted the children to identify with our everyday appliances and allow them to be part of their everyday cooking adventures. Of course we needed a hero/heroine, so we created Ruby, the custodian of the Supreme Kitchen Team. To add a little fantasy and magic we threw in a magical recipe book and apron!
Madeleine could hardly believe her eyes. The Supreme Kitchen Team had appeared!
“Hello everybody,” Ruby said. “We have to help Madeleine make some cupcakes.”
“Sure thing,” Frankie the fridge smiled. He looked around and said, “This kitchen is fit for a King!”
Even grumpy Owen the Oven was impressed.
“Recipe book, show us how” ordered Ruby.
The book leapt high into the air and twirled three times, as it flapped its pages from left to right. It bounced back onto the kitchen bench and revealed the secret recipe!
